Food Insecurity Response

It’s estimated that there were 50 million people struggling with food insecurity in 2020, according to Feeding America.

The USDA defines food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life due to unavailable financial resources for food at the household level.

With a direct correlation to the increase of food insecure families nationwide due to the coronavirus pandemic, AJ Foundation has delivered millions and millions of meals through grocery box distribution in places like Texas, Virginia, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Oklahoma, and many more states across the country.

The impact that these groceries have made on people’s lives is unparalleled, and we know we must continue to do more.

Not only have we expanded our grocery box distribution program, but we’re finding new ways to support people in food insecure communities with job skills training, single parent cooking classes, and budget recipe creation through our community kitchen outreach programs.
